End of 2009 HITL Season

The 2009 HITL season has concluded.  We hope everyone had a good year.  Please check back next year in late March to get on a team for the 2010 season.  Also we are looking for volunteers for new league officers and team captains.  Email one of the current officers if you are interested.

HITL Tournament Final Results are Posted

Check the Results section for final tournament results.  Congratulations to all who participated!

HITL Tournament Brackets are Posted!

Check the Results section for tournament brackets and results for your opponents.  Tournament dates are given below.  Report all score results to Vice President.  Good luck everyone!

The tournament schedule is as follows:

Singles:
Round 1: 9/9 -> 9/22
Round 2: 9/23 -> 10/2
Round 3: 10/3 -> 10/10
Round 4: 10/11 -> 10/16 (only needed for division 3)

Doubles:
Round 1: 9/9 -> 9/22
Round 2: 9/23 -> 10/10
Round 3: 10/11 -> 10/16 (only needed for division 3)

NOTE: as in the past tournaments, you don't have to wait for the "official" start of each round to play your match for that round. You can play each round as soon as you find out who your opponent is going to be. Therefore, you can possibly finish your bracket earlier than the dates posted.

For those of you new to the tournament, there aren't Home or Visitors for each match. For each match, both players (or teams for doubles) brings a new can of balls. The winner gets the unopened can, and the loser gets the opened can.

HITL Tournament

The HITL end of season tournament will begin immediately following Round 10.  The tournament brackets, seeding and current results are updated throughout the week in the Results section.  Please check back here routinely to find your initial and subsequent match-ups.  Remember to bring a can of unopened balls to each match,  Match winners collect the unused can of balls.  All match results need to be reported the Vice-President as soon as the match is finished.  There will be no score reporting at HTC as in years past!

Tournament

Since division 3 has 5 teams, the tournament needed 4 rounds for both singles and doubles. A tournament schedule was made spanning 9/9 to 10/16 and is given below and starts immediately after the conclusion of round 10. Only division 3 needs to play round 4. Andy will send out an email to all captains with the schedule and solicit for tournament players and their t-shirt sizes. Each team can submit a normal round lineup of players to their division coordinator. Extra players will be accommodated on a first-come/first-serve basis. Tournament lineups are due to the division coordinators by 8/31. This year, tournament result scores have to be emailed to the Vice President, Ashok
Raman, as soon as the result known. Ashok will periodically (2-3 times a week) email collected results to the webmaster, Jamie Kelly, for immediate posting on the HITL website. Players should check the website periodically for their new opponents and results.

Since division 3 has 5 teams, they are playing a 10th round which runs 8/26 -> 9/8. Division 4 is also playing a 10th round which does not count. Divisions 1 and 2 are just extending round 9 thru 9/5/2009.

The tournament schedule is as follows:

singles:

rnd 1: 9/9 -> 9/22

rnd 2: 9/23 -> 10/2

rnd 3: 10/3 -> 10/10

rnd 4: 10/11 -> 10/16 (only needed for division 3)

doubles:

rnd 1: 9/9 -> 9/22

rnd 2: 9/23 -> 10/10

rnd 3: 10/11 -> 10/16 (only needed for division 3)

T-Shirts

Jim Scates Sr. will contact Rousseau Sports for t-shirt options and we will collect a vote over email among the board members for final t-shirt type, color, print color and logo. The tournament requires 48 shirts for winners and each division winning team is allotted 12 shirts with extra shirts available at a cost of $10 each. Each HITL officer will also get a shirt. T-shirts can hopefully be contingently ordered before the end of the tournament on 10/16 since we expect a 7 day turn around before the end of season party scheduled on 10/24 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Huntsville Tennis Center.

Jamie Kelly
2009 HITL President

Later round results are posted in the Results section.
